La Fontaine lycée is located in Château Thierry, which lies about 100 km east from Paris. About 45.000 inhabitants live in the area. It is located in the beginning of the Champagne region. The school provides general and professional education to students between 15 to 18 years old. The pupils come from the town and villages around it, there is a small dormitory available for those who come from further away.
There are industrial activities in the town, and vineyards around the villages. The level of unemployment is slightly above the figures for France. Many of the inhabitants work in Paris, which means that the town isn't as dynamic as it could be taken its size. The school counts among its pupils people from many different origins, especially some whose parents have North African origins.
The participants are not likely to have general needs, but some of them may find it difficult to host exchange students at home, due to the small size of their apartment (they will be included in the program and solutions will be found for hosting the exchange students).
